The Led Zeppelin channel on XM will go silent in two days. Once Friday, March 7 rolls around, XM channel 59 will go on hiatus until later in the year. XM doesn’t state why the channel is going away, but it sorta stinks because summer is right around the corner, meaning that your local classic rock station will ignore everything but “Stairway” for months on end. The band wrote other songs, you know. That’s what made XM LED so good, there was a decent variety in there.

And no, no specific re-launch date was even hinted out, just later in 2008.

Intel’s not the only processor manufacturer on the block switching from 65nm to 45nm technology this month. AMD held a press event today to let us know that, yes, it too would adopt the 45nm process for its new procs.

This makes for lower-power and cooler-running processors, and speed is improved as well.

The smaller the “pitch” between the transistors on the chips is, the faster, cooler, and cheaper (power-wise) they run, and 45nm was the next logical progression for AMD to take.
