We’ve seen this puppy in awful renders and blurry spy shots, but now we’ve finally got a opportunity to view Samsung’s SGH-i900 as intended. The latest entry in the touchscreen phone game doesn’t look too shabby when it comes to specs (240 x 400 display, 5-megapixel camera, 16GB of onboard memory, HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0), but we get the feeling a lot of people will be springing for this for its looks. Fashion plates, begin your engines.

Look, I’m not trying to be some anti-Windows Apple fanboi. I’m not saying that a Mac is for everybody; I think everyone should give them a try and then think critically about switching. But when it comes down to choosing between upgrading your small business to Vista or switching to OSX, it’s kind of a no-brainer.
That’s why I take umbrage with this story from CNN’s Money. In it, the writer compares the pros and cons of switching, but ultimately has a few gripes about using a Mac in an office environment.
The grips, from a qualified writer, include such offenses as the packaging being too nice, inability to find the power button, and the whiz-band interface in Time Machine.
The writer had problem with Apple’s Spaces as well. Sure, it might be a little confusing, but they’re not for everyone, and can be turned off. And he was upset that a specific app that his office uses for VPN didn’t work well on a Mac.
Sure, these could be legitimate gripes, but the author doesn’t contrast and compare these with Personal computers, like the fact that some Vaio notebooks have two power buttons that must be pressed in order, that there are alternate apps for pretty much any Windows app, and that Vista is a gas-bag of a memory and resources hog.
Again, I’m not making the case for Apple, but if there are reasons to avoid switching your office over, not being familiar with the power button isn’t one.

Street Fighter IV news, friends. It seems the console edition—yes, there will be PS3, 360 and Personal computer versions—of the game will have full-length anime cutscenes for each character’s ending. They’ll be animated by “famous” anime studio, and won’t be some man-on-the-street hatchet job. And if you had any doubts about the console versions’ authenticity, Capcom has […]

And if you had any doubts about the console versions’ authenticity, Capcom has said the game will be “arcade perfect,” a phrase I haven’t seen trumpeted since the days of Street Fighter Alpha 3. Pretty sure home consoles are now just as powerful, if not more so, than arcade units.
Allow me to state, “eew, anime.” Not a fan. Sorry.

We’re not sure exactly how the math on this works, but according to an Australian consumer group, called Choice, the Playstation 3 consumes more electricity than a medium-sized fridge. Not just a tiny more, but five times more, and that’s just plugged in with no gameplay.
Plasma Televisions are also hardcore energy vampires, sucking down four times more energy than standard Televisions.
Not all electronics are this bad, with the Wii by Nintendo taking up less than 10% of that which the PS3 uses.
Oddly, LCD monitors are superior than CRT monitors for your computer, especially if they’ve a standby mode. The moral is to look for that Energy Star logo, it could end up saving you money and being superior for your karma, man.

It turns out the Supernova from Nokia isn’t a single phone, but rather a whole line of new midrange Series 40 handsets targeted squarely at women — though we’ve gotta be honest, we could see a whole host of men putting these beauties in their pockets, too. Details on Nokia’s Polish site appeared recently (notice the past tense; they were taken down shortly thereafter) speaking about 7510 and 7610 models, adding clamshell and slider form factors alongside the recently-retailed 7310 candybar. The 7510 includes a 2 megapixel lens while the 7610 upgrades to 3.2, but otherwise, both models are alike in their microSD slots, QVGA displays, and pursuits of a lazy 2.5G lifestyle. Since Nokia’s regional sites already seem to have these suckers preloaded and ready for a switch to be flipped somewhere, we’d be shocked if they weren’t officially announced any day now.
