We know that T-Mobile has signed on to pick up the MOTOROKR E8, and last we’d heard it might be dropping some time between… oh, now and August. MobileBurn is now reporting that the music-friendly candybar is slated for announcement tomorrow, though it’s not clear whether it’d be available immediately or they’re just planning on getting customers hot and bothered for a release down the road. The lack of 3G still isn’t much of an issue on T-Mobile’s network, and we were pretty impressed with the device in our hands-on testing, so this’ll be a solid addition. It’s entirely possible (and far too common) for devices like this to get delayed clear into irrelevance, so let’s hope this particular rumor holds up.

MetroPCS Communications Inc, a Dallas-based wireless carrier, is allowing customers to bring phones from other carriers to its network. Supposedly this is one of the largest carriers to do such a thing. Analysts state that this will be the trend as the US wireless market starts to open up.

That stated, if you think you can activate an iPhone on MetroPCS Network, it’s not going to happen. They use CDMA, so only phones from Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel Corp will work.

A pre-release version of iTunes 7.7 includes this tiny gem:

Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.

The real question, however, is whether this will work with Apple TV. Desktop iTunes might be a “nice-to-have” but an Apple TV remote would be astonishing.

As anyone with an iPhone and some unshielded speakers is likely well aware, the two don’t exactly get along all that well together when they’re in close proximity, with the fight for your desk’s air space often resulting in an annoying buzzing sound. Now, one enterprising individual has thankfully come up with a solution in the form of the iPhone anti-interference shield, which consists of nothing more than a carefully cut Red Bull can and some always-handy double stick tape. The shield’s creator does warn that there could possibly be some hindrance to your reception, however, although that apparently hasn’t been noticeable so far. Of course, then shield would no doubt be just as effective with another 2G GSM phone, and you can probably find a suitable alternative for the Red Bull can if its not to your taste either.
