It’s stated that the phone will run $129 on a two-year contract after the redemption of a $50 rebate — not exactly cheap, but where else are you going to find a Verizon phone with an FM transmitter in baby blue? That’s what we thought. Filed under: Handsets, Sony Ericsson, GSM  The W580 is one of Sony Ericsson’s more popular handsets for three very simple reasons: it’s cheap, it’s reasonably sharp-looking, and it knows its way around a playlist. Problem is, it’s getting a little long in the tooth — and that might just be where this rumored W595 (codenamed “Linda”) comes into play. The spied slider claims a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, stereo speakers, shake control (for controlling the media player with a few well-executed flicks of the wrist), and a svelte 14mm shell. Virgin Mobile releases TNT! The TNT! is a Kyocera-sourced flip with a color primary display, banner-style monochrome secondary display, speakerphone, basic web access, and not much else — but if you’re just looking for a way to blow through some of those prepaid minutes you’ve got lying around, that’s pretty much all you need. Ideal Purchase is now offering the E8 on Rogers for $149.99 CAD (about $147) on one of those crazy three-year deals, and since local stores are stocking it, you’ll be able to freak out your friends with the morphing keypad before the day’s out. [Via MobileSyrup] Filed under: Handsets, LG, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS  It’s simple for some of the mid-range riff raff to get buried by the headliners at trade shows, and that’s exactly what happened with a pair of LG sliders at CommunicAsia this year that still deserve just a tiny bit of attention. The KT520 is arguably the more attractive of the two, featuring HSDPA, QVGA display, and a 3 megapixel autofocus cam. The KF390, meanwhile, doesn’t put a heck of a lot of effort into being pretty or powerful — but the basic model does feature a handful of disappearing touch-sensitive buttons (a little tribute to the Chocolate, we guess) and a 2 megapixel cam.
